The Golisano Children's Museum of Naples (C?mon) is Southwest Florida's first museum devoted for children and families to learn through play. With hands-on exhibit galleries, the accessible museum invites visitors of all ages to journey through the swamps of the Everglades, weave through a maze, climb a two-story banyan tree, or experiment with the water play station.

Camp Blanding Museum

Camp Blanding was a major U.S. Army training facility during the Second World War. It was originally established as a state-owned training reservation in 1939 for the Florida National Guard. However, as war clouds materialized, the mobilization of reserve forces and the rapid expansion of the entire United States Army required Camp Blanding to be converted to a federal reservation. It was subsequently enlarged to house two complete infantry divisions along with many separate units. Prior to turning Camp Blanding into an Infantry Replacement Center (IRTC) in 1943, dozens and dozens of army formations comprising hundreds of thousands of troops trained at Camp Blanding.

Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum

The Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum is on the National Registry of Country Schools and has a mission to foster understanding of the country school experience in Northwest Florida. Actual and replica artifacts stimulate and encourage learning about the Okaloosa educational collection. Programs and historical activities are offered throughout the year. Field trips promote and sustain an interest in the history of the one-room school. The City of Fort Walton Beach is happy to provide public access to the schoolhouse on a regular basis.

The Carrabelle History Museum shares the history and culture of Carrabelle from the viewpoint of its long term residents. Exhibit items include Native American pottery shards and artifacts, marine fossils, the original “World’s Smallest Police Station”, artifacts and stories from the shipwreck of the SS Tarpon, personal memorabilia of famous local citizens, newspapers, and photographs, plus city arrest records…and an endless supply of fascinating stories.

Dedicated to the memories of the “Amphibious Soldiers” of WWII, Franklin County is proud to be the location of North Florida’s premier WWII museum.

Our new facilities, located across from Carrabelle Public Beach Park, house over 4,000 square feet of artifacts, vehicles, photos, memorabilia and memories of the soldiers, sailors and other military as well as civilian personnel who trained and worked here during the WWII years. Three Infantry division and two Special Brigades left here after training to confront tyranny both in Europe and the Pacific. Learn about their dedication, fears and heroism at our museum.

Visit the Carrabelle History Museum located in the Old City Hall Building at 106 Avenue B, SE, ( behind the BP station on US 98). The museum is located in the Old Carrabelle City Hall built in 1933 as project of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) by local mason Marvin Justiss. The museum has 4 rooms to display its collections. a workroom/office for the volunteers to process the incoming artifacts and a nice long hallway for special displays.
