The Museum serves as a repository of historical and cultural information and physical artifacts primarily relating to African Americans in Pinellas County, Florida. We also sponsor several unique events each year including the following:

• Toast To The Legends - is an annual event which honors and recognizes pioneer African American families. Family members provide those attending with a display of family artifacts and an oral account of the family's contributions.
• Children’s Magical Village - consists of entertaining workshops coupled with educational information on traditional African culture.

The Florida Gulf Coast Center For Fishing & Interactive Museum is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to: 1. Teaching children about life through fishing; 2. Heritage Village, operated by Pinellas County government with assistance from the Pinellas County Historical Society, is a 21-acre living history museum located in the heart of Pinellas County at 11909 125th St. N. in Largo.
