The museum runs strictly on donations. While admission is free, your donation is welcome, appreciated and needed. The museum is operated by the Copper Valley Historical Society, a non-profit group of volunteers, who opened the museum in 1984.

Housed in a rustic log cabin, the museum offers the visitor a unique look at the varied past of the Copper River Valley area. Exhibits include early mining of gold and copper, and Russian artifacts.
