One of the top-ten public gardens in the United States, noted for 150 acres of landscaped gardens & preserved Northwest forest.
To enrich people's lives through a premier public garden of natural and designed Pacific Northwest landscapes.
Developed over the course of 35 years by Prentice Bloedel, owner of several timber companies, the Bloedel Reserve opened as a public garden in 1988. Bloedel was an early practitioner of environmental sustainability and renewable resources, and deeply interested in the emotional and aesthetic interaction between people and nature.
