Description

The Ilwaco Heritage Museum has as its mission the preservation and interpretation of the heritage of the Columbia-Pacific region. By presenting ehibits, both permanent and temporary, and programs reflecting the rich culture of this area, the Museum provides an educational experience for young and old alike. The reserach Library also provides for family research and access to old photos for copying.

History

The Ilwaco Heritage Museum will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2008. It was started by local visionary Noreen Robinson who saw a need for place to preserve and present the rich cultural heritage of our area.

Artifact Collections
Arifacts reflect the heritage connected to the fishing, logging, and farming history of the settplers in this area. The Columbia River is a site of much exploration and history of the maritime trades.
Research Collections

We have documents, books and pictures reflecting the history of the lower Colimbia Pacific area. Research Librarians are available to assist.

Programs

At this point programs are primarily exhibitions,gallery tours and lecures. There are no educational materials availble for loan.
