Description

The Evanston History Center is private, non-profit educational and cultural institution established in 1898 to preserve and share Evanston history. The EHC collects, preserves and tells the story of Evanston's past through tours of the Charles Gates Dawes House, interactive and engaging museum exhibits, a comprehensive research room and research collections, and wide-ranging educational programs.

The mission of the Evanston History Center is to collect, preserve and interpret the rich history of the City of Evanston and all its people through exhibits, educational programs and research facilities.

The Evanston History Center was founded in 1898. The Dawes House has been our home since 1960.
