The building in Emory has a number of exhibits and artifacts that detail the stories of the Reconstruction era in Texas, as well as Negro League baseball and Buffalo soldiers. The museum also includes a number of vintage U.S. postage stamps as well as a display of the Rosenwald Schools in the South. In fact, the museum is now in the midst of a fund-raising campaign to ultimately preserve and restore a vacated Rosenwald School building in the community.

Agricultural Heritage Museum

The Agricultural Heritage Museum is located in Boerne City Park on over 5 acres. A blacksmith shop, woodworking shop, pioneer house, wagon house, main museum building and many outdoor exhibits showcase antique farm machinery and implements. Blacksmiths work on Saturdays and demonstrate their craft.

Allan Shivers Library & Museum

The museum was given, with the library, to the people of Tyler County in 1966, by Governor and Mrs. Allan Shivers. The building is a Victorian house containing mementos of the governor's gubernatorial service and private life.

American Cotton Museum

The American Cotton Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the American cotton industry. Our exhibits explore the social history of cotton production in America through the days of sharecropping to modern production circa 1868 to current. We focus on sharecropping, ginners, and cotton compresses to the end product users- spinners, weavers and industrical workers.

Through the Frances Arnold Ellis Local History Galler, we are preserving thelocal history of Hund Conty inclusive of the local cotton industry. The Historic Ende-Gaillard House (c.1857) is part of our physical plant.

Armstrong County Museum
Claude, Texas

History

The Armstrong County Museum is one of a few museums in the state of Texas that owns and operates a theater. This theater is a part of the historic six building complex that makes up the main museum area. The theater is equipped with a VHS video projector, a satellite, and Dolby surround-sound equipment. The museum uses the theater to show "Portraits of the Past," an introduction to the history of Armstrong County which has been awarded special recognition by the Texas Historical Commission in 1995.

While the stage is small, it is used for live productions.
