Historical Society

1890 restored Italianate Victorian home of pioneer hop king and champion of the Oregon Trail. Collections of photographs, textiles, local historical ephemera and Victorian era furnishings. Artifacts elated to Oregon Trail, including a covered wagon.

Located in the Tacoma Dome, the Shanaman Sports Museum recreates the history of sports in Tacoma-Pierce County through written and visual displays. A 23 minute video may also be viewed on site.

History

Established in 1930 by Dr. and Mrs. Warner Karshner, the Paul H. Karshner Memorial Museum provides firsthand learning opportunities for K-5 students in the Puyallup School District.
