The Wheeling Area Historical Society held its final meeting Monday evening, Nov. 14, 2011. The group disbanded as longtime leader Margaret Brennan stepped down from the society's presidency.

The Alumni Association has acted as historians for the College, working to preserve the history of the buildings occupied by the college and the relationship of those edifices to the community. The Alumni’s museum, established in 1985, has preserved and maintained a large collection of B&O memorabilia and one-thousand pieces of Hazel Atlas Glass. In an effort to reflect the local history of the New Martinsville Campus, the Alumni also has a display of original Viking Glass on that campus that was donated by Mrs. Homer Hoskins, Jr.
