The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden, all in one place! Exhibits re-create the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert Region so realistically you find yourself eye-to-eye with mountain lions, prairie dogs, Gila monsters, and more. Within the Museum grounds, you will see more than 300 animal species and 1,200 kinds of plants. There are almost 2 miles of paths traversing 21 acres of beautiful desert.

International Wildlife Museum

Founded in 1988, the International Wildlife Museum has over 400 kinds of insects, mammals and birds from all over the globe. Some of the collections are more than 100 years old and all the species found at the museum were donated by various government agencies, wildlife rehabilitation centers, captive breeding programs, zoos and individuals. Dioramas depicting wild animals in their natural settings, videos, and hands-on exhibits provide fun and educational experiences for all ages. Your visit is an excellent opportunity to see animals up close and gain a better understanding of their size and adaptive characteristics.

Deer Valley Rock Art Center

Deer Valley Rock Art Center is an archaeology museum and 47-acre Sonoran Desert preserve. Voted a Phoenix Point of Pride and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Center has the largest concentration of Native American petroglyphs in the Phoenix Valley. Visitors hike a handicap accessible quarter-mile trail to view over 1,500 carved symbols on rock made between 500 and 7,000 years ago. The museum provides preservation, connection and respect for cultural heritage sites and desert environments and it is managed by one of the top archaeology programs in the country ? the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University.
