Elsing Museum

The Elsing collection includes over 3000 specimens of spectacular minerals, gems, fossils, native American artifacts, and oriental carvings. The carvings range from intricately sculpted ivory pieces to jade, open and even cork. Approximately 200 different mineral species are represented from regional Oklahoma varieties to rare specimens from around the world. Special exhibit rooms are set aside for fluorescent minerals and delicate carvings.

General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute & Museum

Located in the southwest Oklahoma town of Hobart, the current museum is housed in recently-renovated historic downtown buildings. The 9,500 square foot facility includes a gift shop, a show room and display gallery that showcases items from General Frank's personal collection. The museum's theme of Leadership, Patriotism and Service is shared through many unique items, one-of-a-kind pieces, top secret videos and by the life lessons learned by General Tommy Franks.

Caddo’s museum was the brainchild of Caddo’s Bicentennial Committee (1976). It opened in 1978 and since then it has been entertaining and enlightening visitors from across the country and around the globe. Some are just “passing through” and see the sign on the highway. Others are on a quest to find some bit of information about a mysterious ancestor or lost relative. The charming ladies who volunteer at the museum are always eager to chat with you about Caddo’s history or help you locate family ties.

Newspaper Museum In Collinsville

The Oklahoma Railway Museum (ORM) operates over the former Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad line (the Katy) in Northeast Oklahoma City. The Museum is located in Oklahoma’s Frontier Country Tourism area, just south of the Adventure district at 3400 NE Grand Blvd., just off I-35 at exit 31 or NE 36th street. The museum and train operations serve as an educational experience for both young and old, which can provide the experience of railroad travel either in a 1940-50’s streamliner passenger train or the feel of the mixed train passenger service that once operated across the state.
The museum operates a variety of different Diesel Locomotives and passenger equipment ranging from the 1920’2s to the 1950’s.

Located in Drumright, a short distance west of Tulsa, just off of Historic Route 66 this museum of local history is housed, in a 1916 Santa Fe Railroad depot. The town has changed and the Oil Boom is no longer what it was, but the history remains. Both indoor and outdoor exhibits showcase the oil and railroad history of our town. The museum also hosts various seasonal events, including the upcoming Drumright Autumn Festival. Students of local history will be enlightened, and children will love the railroad cars and old machinery.
