Museum Road Show: The traveling Road Show and Classroom started as one of two major Phase II projects of the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute (the other being Four Star Debate). The Road Show is a traveling exhibit that enhances the educational opportunities for school students by 'taking the show to the kids.' Two educators/ tour guides give instructional tours to middle school students, bringing the exhibit to life. Educational discussions are based on a curriculum packet that meet Oklahoma PASS skill requirements. Since the beginning in September of 2008 the Road Show has traveled over 40,000 miles taking the show to over 215 schools and has guided more than 38,000 students through the exhibit. These schools have been across Oklahoma and last year extended into Texas.
The mobile classroom travels directly to schools, free of charge through donations of key sponsors. Partners that have made this project possible include Choice Hotels, Oklahoma Christian University, Design Werks, National Center for Policy Analysis, Musco Lighting, City of Hobart, DeBartolo and Family, Planters Co-op, Hobart and Lone Wolf, Washington Speakers Bureau, Stockman’s Bank, John Wiseman and contributions from individuals like you.
