Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum

We feature Flathead V-8 engines, transmissions, rear axles (many of them "cut-a-way" models showing the inner workings); tons of memorabilia, service items, including test equipment and tools; a dashboard collection, carburetors, tires & rims, clocks for every early V-8 year; Schramm air compressors, showroom banners, advertising posters, and on and on.

Indiana Medical History Museum

The Indiana Medical History Museum is located in the Old Pathology Building on the grounds of the former Central State Hospital on the near westside of Indianapolis. The museum represents the beginning of scientific psychiatry and modern medicine while the building itself is the oldest surviving pathology facility in the nation and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Johnson County Museum

The Johnson County Museum of History is housed in a former Masonic temple, built in 1924. The building itself is an artifact and boasts many of its original architectural features, including an impressive 2nd floor auditorium. The museum collection, begun in 1931, includes an 1830s pioneer cabin and maintains over 20,000 artifacts (pre-historic to present), archival documents and photographs relating to Johnson County and the surrounding area. Our genealogy and county history library offers a wealth of research books, archival materials and original documents dating from the county's inception, for historical and family research relating to Johnson County and surrounding regions.

La Porte County Historical Society Museum

We have thousands of items on permanent display. We are now able to have more programs that involve the community. We try to have a current display that changes every few months.

The majority of the downstairs level of the museum is given over to the W. A Jones Collection of Ancient Weapons. William A. Jones owned an iron foundry in Chicago, traveling around the world in search of items for his collection. Many of the guns you can see on display were purchased in such faraway locations as Mexico City, Paris, Dublin, Constantinople, Jerusalem, Cairo, as well as all over the United States.

On view in the La Porte County Historical Society Museum is the Kesling Automobile Collection, consisting of more than 30 vintage automobiles collected by Dr. Peter C.

Carnegie Hall Museum

Moores Hill Male and Female Collegiate Institute was founded in 1854 by John Moore in the small town of Moores Hill in southeastern Indiana. The first college building at Moores Hill, Moore Hall, was completed on December 1, 1856, although the opening day of classes for the new college were held in the unfinished building on September 9th. It was renamed Moores Hill College in 1887.

Indiana Military Museum

The Indiana Military Museum (IMM) exists to serve the citizens of the community, the state, and the nation with educational programming, archives, displays, and opportunities for intense research related to America?s military history from the American Revolution to the present day. The museum is dedicated to fostering the memory, understanding, and appreciation of U.S. military history. The museum contains one of the best overall collections of military memorabilia in both the Midwest and the United States and has a vast array of unique artifacts, including military vehicles, artillery, weaponry, uniforms, insignia, artwork, textual resources, music, equipment and other related artifacts from the Revolutionary War to the present day.

Joseph Moore Museum of Natural History

Joseph Moore Museum is the regional natural history museum for eastern Indiana. It provides opportunities for Earlham students to have hands-on experience working in a museum in the fields of zoology, botany, anthropology, geology, education, and applied arts. Students curate the collection, provide tours and planetarium shows for visitors, maintain the live animal collections, and design and build exhibits. Guidance is provided by natural science faculty members.

We are housed in a spacious, Colonial-style building with ample parking and lawns for outside events. Listed by the American Automobile Association as a 'GEM Site,' we offer interesting, educational displays 5 days a week, along with special events such as our annual Civil War Weekend in June, and Old Car Show in July. Special theme displays, guest speakers, and more are routinely scheduled.
