Moccasin Lake Nature Park is an Environmental and Energy Education Center providing residents and visitors to beautiful Clearwater with a natural retreat from the concrete and asphalt setting of the urban environment and offers a change of vistas from the famous white sandy beaches. This is a place where you can enjoy a small piece of Florida's natural history. Come walk the nature trails where you might visually encounter egrets, ospreys, butterflies, turtles or the occasional alligator. Visit the gift shop and other live wildlife exhibits where you can see non-venomous snakes, turtles, freshwater fish, amphibians, songbirds and birds of prey.

It is adjacent to the Florida Botanical Gardens. Heritage Village brings to life more than 150 years of rich and colorful local history in a picturesque, cool landscape of palmettos and pine trees. More than 25 buildings and structures are restored, authentic and full of fun. A new EnterAction adventure welcomes families and reveals secrets of the past.

The Museum serves as a repository of historical and cultural information and physical artifacts primarily relating to African Americans in Pinellas County, Florida. We also sponsor several unique events each year including the following:

  • Toast To The Legends - is an annual event which honors and recognizes pioneer African American families. Family members provide those attending with a display of family artifacts and an oral account of the family's contributions.
  • Children’s Magical Village - consists of entertaining workshops coupled with educational information on traditional African culture.
