The Nashville,Chattanooga,& St.Louis Railway passenger Depot built in 1907,and restored by the Cit of Jackson in 1996 into a museum as a lasting tribute to the impact of the railroads on the growth of Jachson,TN.
The depot was built of brick in 1907 and designed to complement nearby lancaster Park with its electro-chalybeate welllakes, beautiful gardens, and fairgrounds. The well continues to flow today. The depot was used until 1967.
The museum's collection includes photo's,artifacts, and related memorabilia associated with the N.C.&St.L.,G.M.&O.,I.C. Railroads and their family trees. Also open on the on the grounds are a 1947 F.E.C. RR. dining car and two cabooses. Built and maintained by the Jackson Area Model Railroad Club is a elaborate HO scale model RR.of Jackson,TN.(500' + of track) & runs daily.
