The Leanin’ Tree Museum and Sculpture Garden of Western and Wildlife Art features fine art paintings and bronzes of western America created after 1930. The collection consists of cowboys, Indians, wildlife and landscapes. Two hundred and fifty paintings and 150 bronze sculptures created by over 100 artists are on permanent display. We are a private corporate museum designed for leisurely, self-guided tours.
Strapped for cash, Ed and co-founder Bob Lorenz started their business in Colorado by trading art for advertising. While Ed managed the business side of things, Bob, an aspiring young western artist, created a painting for the cover of Western Livestock Magazine. In return, the two entrepreneurs received an advertisement to promote their Western Christmas cards - all four of them!
Ed Trumble founded Leanin’ Tree in 1949 and serves as Chairman of the Board today. His quest for original art by western artists for reproduction on Leanin’ Tree greeting cards led to lifelong friendships with many artists, and a personal collection of art that forms the basis of the Leanin’ Tree Museum.
