The museum is open to the public the fourth Sunday from May through October and by appointment
Recent events include an annual guided walking tour of Oakham center for 5th grade students, antique appraisal days, annual town wide yard sale, Coldbrook Springs walk, house tours of historically interesting Oakham homes and fireside chats at the Fobes library.
The Association's purpose is to preserve as much of Oakham's history as possible.
The Oakham Historical Association was established in 1899 with meetings at the Fobes Memorial Library. In 1994 the present museum was donated to the Association.
Regular meetings are held on the third Wed. of the month, with a work meeting on the first Thursday.
A newsletter is published quarterly and sent to all members.
