Anybody interested in Westbrook history is invited to join our Society. Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. Individual annual membership dues are $10.00. Family annual membership is $15.00. Lifetime membership is $100.00.
The purposes of our Society are: 1. To perpetuate the memory of the original settlers of Westbrook. 2. To promote the study of the history of Westbrook and encourage interest in it. 3. To acquire, preserve and display documents, relics and records relating to the history of Westbrook. 4. To mark, by suitable monuments and inscriptions, places of historical interest. 5. To stimulate and promote community activity in preserving historical articles, sites and buildings.
Our museum features artifacts from many local families, including Bushnell, Chapman, Neidlinger, Spencer, Wilcox and Wright. We have collections of Indian arrow and spear heads, clothing, local photography and household and nautical items.
We have a small library and a limited amount of information about local families and houses.
