Beaverhead County Museum is a one of kind museum. The museum complex includes the main museum, cabin, one-room schoolhouse, gazebo, the railroad depot and the depot theatre.
We offer a visitor experience tour that can be accessed with a smartphone by scanning a QR code. We offer made in Montana gifts in our gift store and a large research center for reaching.
The mission of the Beaverhead County Museum is to collect and preserve the natural, physical, and human history of Beaverhead County and to ensure that this history is made available to all people.
The Beaverhead County Museum was a dream of the DAR Montana chapter. They began to collect artifacts in 1930s and in 1950 ground was broke to build the log museum building. Since then, there have been several additions and the restoration of the railroad depot that house the Audubon bird exhibit, Lewis & Clark Diorama and the Indigenous Peoples of Southwestern Montana.
