To enrich people's lives through a premier public garden of natural and designed Pacific Northwest landscapes.

History

Developed over the course of 35 years by Prentice Bloedel, owner of several timber companies, the Bloedel Reserve opened as a public garden in 1988. Bloedel was an early practitioner of environmental sustainability and renewable resources, and deeply interested in the emotional and aesthetic interaction between people and nature.
