Heritage Days began in 1994 with the local Historical Society planning a festival to celebrate Shade Township and Central City Borough's Heritage. The festival is currently sponsored by the Shade-Central City Heritage Days Organization. The organization is comprised of several community volunteers and supported by donations from local business and organizations. The festival's goal is to be a community picnic for all ages to celebrate and enjoy good food, games, music, and other entertainment. Call for dates.
The Shade-Central City Historical Society meets every 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the "Little Museum" in the Central City Park-everyone is welcome.
