Plant City Photo Archives
A Museum of Historic Photographs. The Exhibit Gallery contains changing exhibits,(from 100 to 600 photos), and the computerized data base is key-word searchable and contains over 55,000 scanned and digitized photographs and documents. Photos and documents are always requested and may be submitted during open hours or by appointment. They will be returned after scanning.

The Exhibit Gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and by appointment on Monday. Photographs and documents may be submitted during Open hours or by appointment.

Admissions

There is no charge for admission. Donations are accepted.

Description

A museum of historic photographs containing over 55,000 digitized images and an exhibit gallery with a changing exhibit. The Exhibit Gallery is also used for musical performances, fundraising events, and other gatherings.

Mission

To preserve the history and heritage of the greater Plant City, east Hillsborough County, and west central Florida communities by collecting, preserving, and exhibiting their historic photographs - and the stories around the photos.

History

Plant City Photo Archives, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit Florida corporation established in 2000 after acquiring the photographic collection of a local photographer. The collection has now grown to over 100,000 photographs and documents, (55,000 of which have been scanned and digitized), and one publication to date: "Remembering Plant City; Tales from the Winter Strawberry Capital of the World", The History Press, Charleston, SC.
