The Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum hosts a student groups from around Florida and the surrounding states. Pre- and Post-Tour Packet on CD-Rom are mailed to teahcers to prepare students for their visit. The post-tour activities are provided to reinforce what students learned during their tour.
In addition, teachers are encouraged to share this information with all of the teachers coming to the museum. Helpful Guidelines for School Visits are provided for chaperones so they are aware of museum rules. A walking map of the downtown area with the entrance (29 St. George Street) to the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum is also included on the CD-Rom.
The Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum school tour is one hour long and includes an orientation and three stops within the museum. Most groups visit the blacksmith and then two of the other stations. These may include a calligrapher, soldier/musket firing, carpenter, leather worker, or women’s and children’s activities.
