Description

The Museum is housed in the oldest building on the ranch, built circa 1877. The building was used as the cooking wing and bunkhouse of the 1868 Ranch Manager's house built by James Irvine I.

Mission

The Irvine Historical Society was founded in 1976 to preserve, research, and promote the heritage of the original Irvine Ranch.

Artifact Collections

Agriculture, Cattle ranching, Irvine Family, Old Town Irvine, Citrus Industry, Mexican rancho era, Native Americans.

Research Collections

Library, California History.

Educational Programs

Tours of the Museum collections, Tours of Old Town Irvine. Workshops, Speaker program.
