Description

WE are an aviation museum telling the stories of aviation's impact to the economy and culture of North Texas from 1911 to the present. We use that history to educate our community and strive to inspire young people to careers in aviation and aerospace.

We have a collection of 24 military aircraft on static display. we are also home to the B-36 Peacemaker and Forward Air Controller's museums and the OV-10 Bronco Association.

History

Aviation history in North Texas from 1911 to the present.

Artifact Collections

In addition to the 24 aircraft, the Forward Air Controller's Museum has displays on the history of Forward Air control form 1794 to the present. The B-36 Peacemaker Museum has displays on the Air Force Plant #4 (now Lockheed Martin)and the aircraft produced here. The remainder of displays cover aviation history in North Texas and its impact on the culture and economy of the area.

We also have a variety of flight simulators for young and old.

Research Collections

Library of over 1,000 aviation books.

Programs

All of our visitors are guided through our facility by knowledgeable docents. Educational programs are tailored to groups needs and ages.

Facilities

We are located on historic Meacham International Airport in Fort Worth. We occupy 4 acres. Our aircraft are all displayed out doors. The museum building is 3,500 sqft and our collection storage and aircraft restoration operation are contained in an adjacent 3,700 sqft building.

Governance

The museum is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation governed by a board of directors.
