Intimate local history museum that offers much insight and information about agricultural production in the San Gabriel Valley. Many 3D artifacts that illustrate life in the early part of the last century. Scores of schoolchildren visit for a glimpse of early Covina history.
The Covina Valley Historical Society was organized in 1969. Membership hovers around 250 members. The City of Covina allowed the CVHS to transform an old Firehouse and Jail into a museum in 1978. Community interest was high for such a worthwhile project and within three years the building was rennovated. A local community museum was assembled shortly afterward and is still enjoyed by hundreds of schoolchildren and visitors each year.
One of the most complete collections of citrus records and memorabilia in southern California.
Citrus Packing House Records, Meteorological Records and Original Graphs, 3D agricultural artifacts
Guided tours for mostly 3rd and 4th graders include a living history demonstation of orange packing on an actual historic packing stand by Vollie Moore (100 years young) and she actually worked in a packing plant.
