Admissions

Four dinner meetings are held annually at Phoenix Lodge, 153 Broadway, Hanover Four Corners. The Stetson House was open with special displays on Memorial Day and Hanover Day. The Friends of the Stetson House organize the decoration and Open House at the Stetson during the Christmas Season.

Admission does not include special events.

Description

The Hanover Historical Society is located in Southeastern Massachusetts, a half hour south of Boston. The society has two museums a historic house c. 1716, which is the society's headquarters and acts as a Hanover History Museum and storage for our collection. The second museum is a firefighting museum which houses our collection of firefighting equipment and display on National Fireworks, a company that produced fireworks and later bombs during WWII in Hanover.

Mission

The Hanover Historical Society is a non-profit organization seeking to promote a better understanding of Hanover's unique heritage by education, preservation, and sharing our resources with the community. Our educational goals are carried out by creating innovative educational programs and sharing our archives with the public. Preservation goals include conserving our vast collection of books, textiles, and objects and providing a stable environment for their future sustainability. The Hanover Historical society encourages a better understanding of the town's history to show how it translates to the present.

The Hanover Historical Society is a 503(c)(3) non profit organization Incorporated within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on March 1, 1928.
