Our purpose is to "Create a Passion for the Past." We do this by collecting the artifacts and ephemera that represent the past and present of Cupertino. The Cupertino Historical Society & Muesum houses approximately 3000 artifacts spanning over 100 years
of Cupertino's history - including settlement, agriculture, education, home life, and business. Select artifacts are displayed in our museum according to theme in rotating vignette exhibits.
Our society hosts a quarterly lecture series featuring topics of historical interest to our community.
The mission of the Cupertino Historical Society and Museum is to preserve and illuminate Cupertino's past to inspire our youth, strengthen the sense of community, and shape a better future by making Cupertino history relevant and available to all.
The Cupertino Historical Society was formed in 1966 and the museum was created in 1990. We are a 501(c)(3) organization governed by a board of directors. Most of our funding comes from donations from individuals, corporations and foundations. We also have a very supportive membership.
The Cupertino Historical Society and Museum is dedicated to ensuring that the heritage of Cupertion stays alive for all to understand and share, and for all to assimilate as their heritage.
