Description

The Museum's purpose is to collect, preserve and exhibit the material culture of Sonoma County and the surrounding region of Northern California. Exhibits constantly change and cover a wide spectrum in time and subject.

Artifact Collections

anthropology, archaeology, archives, basketry, ceramics, costumes, decorative arts, ethnology, furniture, history, jewelry, painting, photography, prints/drawing, textiles, works on paper

Programs

Curated exhibitions.
Public programs including lectures, expert panels, cultural outings, film screenings, demonstrations.
Children programs including Free Family Days with hands-on art activities.
Daily docent tours.
Museum and Schools program with subsidized bussing.
Educator guides, teacher workshops, volunteer and internship programs.
