The Czech Center Museum Houston is a 501(c)(3) non-profit education and cultural arts organization. Committed to the edification of the public on Czech and Slovak heritage, the CCMH also serves as a catalyst for the exploration of all heritages in the effort to promote civil society in a global community.
The Prague International Gift Shop features unique gifts of the Bohemian world such as Bohemian crystal and porcelain, antique Czech garnet jewelry and other collectibles from several countries, especially the Czech Republic.
Your event can be held in the first floor Brno Gallery or spacious Prague Hall on the second floor. The Czech Center Museum Houston is fifteen years old as an organization and a proud member of Houston's Museum District since 2007. The CCMH brings its cultural resources to focus on a rich cultural group that has settled in the United States and played a large part in the history of our nation. With Houston's multiple ethnic groups, which number over one hundred distinct cultures, there is a unique opportunity to explore Houston's communities and uncover connections among people of diverse cultural backgrounds. As one explores and gets to know its neighboring communities through their cultural organizations, you will uncover your cultural connections and deepen your appreciation of the value of your and this cultural diversity!
The Czech Center Museum Houston boasts a wide range of artifacts associated with the cultural heritage of the Czech and Slovak people. Together, the artifacts trace the rich history of the Czech lands from centuries ago to contemporary times. Most recently, the CCMH has acquired the largest collection of Czech ceramics,pottery and glass from between 1918 and 1938.
The Czech Center Museum Houston's library focuses on collections of historic and contemporary volumes as well as current periodicals on topics of interest to the general public. Literature can be found both in English and in the Czech and Slovak languages.
The Czech Center Museum Houston regularly provides concerts, seminars, exhibitions, performances, lectures and tours to the general public.
