In the past 4 years the Greene Co. Museum has brought a historical home that had set vacant & was deteriorating back to life as we imagine it was during the time Greene Co's only governor (J. Marion Futrell & his family built this home) We see our museum as a way to preserve Greene Co. History and to prevent valuable historical items from being forgotten.
Organized from a community meeting to see if we had an interest. We had 0 funds & didn't know where we would find a house for a museum. With hard work everything fell in place.
Native american with pottery and artifacts found in Greene Co.
Railroad, Industry, education, sports hall of fame, lost landmarks, 3 rooms of Greene Co. History, 2 military rooms, childrens room & old toys.
Tours for scouts, students, senior citizens & churches, schools.
