Explore the heritage of Radford and the New River Valley in Glencoe Museum, a 19th-century Victorian home on the banks of the New River. Elegant furnishings, photographs from Radford’s past, an old-time woodworking shop, and more, make Glencoe a place where memories come alive.
The Radford Heritage Museum and Glencoe Museum offer a comprehensive look at the heritage of Southwest Virginia. Join us for our lecture series or visit the "Radford Heritage Days" in June 2007.
Glencoe Museum was founded in 1998 by the Radford Heritage Foundation. Since it's inception, the museum has become the main historic resource for the community.
Glencoe mainly presents a Victorian house from the 1870s complete with period furniture. Other exhibits include Native American artifacts and an extensive tool collection.
The museum holds various documents (including images) related to Radford history.
Every visitor will get a tour by a volunteer docent.
Bimonthly lecture series in 2007.
History summer camp for children.
Rotating exhibits.
Glencoe Museum is operated by the Radford Heritage Foundation.
