The Sachse Historical Society was established in 1989 to presesrve the history of the community, and record the present for future generations. The city of Sachse made available to the Society a building, which was renovated in 2005 and opened as a museum in 2006. In 2006 a master plan for the direction of the museum was implemented, and collections software was installed in 2007. The museum and society are supported by other organizations in Sachse, namely the volunteer staffers from the Laurie Schwenk Senior Activity Center, the Sachse Economic Development Corporation, American National Bank, the Sachse Cemetery Foundation, the Sachse Chamber of Commerce, and the offices, records and goodwill support of the city of Sachse.
