We attempt to preserve and present the rich railroad history of the Roaring Fork and Colorado river valleys, with photographic and interactive displays.
The trains are running at the Glenwood Railroad Museum, located in the historic (1904) Rio Grande railroad depot. Two large rooms full of railroad history, with operating model trains, gift shop, photo displays and full-size Union Pacific, Amtrak and BNSF trains right outside.
Glenwood Railroad Museum was established by our NRHS chapter, after obtaining a lease from Union Pacific railroad. It opened to the public in Sept. 2003 and is staffed by volunteers along with three paid staffers.
