American Celebration on Parade is a one-of-a-kind exhibition of parade floats and celebration art that appeals to all ages. School children can learn about simple machines as well as the history of presidential inaugurals and other national celebrations. Adults will remember seeing many of the artifacts on television.
American Celebration on Parade opened in 2000 as the third attraction at Shenandoah Caverns. Owner Earl Hargrove also operates a Maryland special event, trade show, and custom exhibit company that has provided services to every presidential inaugural since 1949, decorated the National Christmas Tree since 1954, and held to stage world summit meetings. He wanted a place to exhibit many of the one-of-a-kind historical artifacts resulting from his work.
Spectacular parade floats from the Rose Parade, Presidential Inaugurals, Macy's and other Thanksgiving Day parades, Miss America and other national celebrations are much larger than life-size. The animated floats are supplemented by props and settings from major events in America's political and entertainment history. A special Presidential Inaugural exhibit will remain open through 2005.
