Description

A stricking adobe structure, this site explores the stories of a multicultural family that influenced the development of the Southwest borderlands. The Home, built around 1875 by Joseph Magoffin, is a prime example of Territorial style architecture and features a center courtyard and peaceful landscape. Explore the home's authentic art and furnishings reflecting the daily lives of a prominent El Paso family.

Mission

The Magoffin Home preserves and interprets the history, artifacts, and heritage of a prominent El Paso family, inspiring a deeper appreciation and understanding of Texas and the Southwest borderlands during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This is accomplished by immersing visitors in an authentic historic environment, by providing quality programs that educate, enlighten, and entertain, and by supporting community efforts to preserve local history.
