Floyd County Historical Museum
Floydada, Texas
Description

Exhibits include replica of Thomas Montgomery ranch house. Numerous exhibits from early Floyd County pioneers. Artifacts from only recognized campsite of Coronado in State of Texas. Excellent research library (genealogy or local history). Open nights or weekends by appointment.

History

The Museum began in 1971, when a group of Floyd County citizens expressed the desire to preserve Floyd County history. It is governed by a Board of Directors which meets quarterly. It has steadily grown over the years.

Artifact Collections

Coronado artifacts from the Jimmy Owens Site in Blanco Canyon.

Research Collections

Museum houses Mary Lou Bollman History and Genealogy Center. Newspapers on microfilm, family files, cemetery and Funeral Home Records,birth, death and marriage records, school yearbooks, and census records. Outstanding research library for this area.
