We are an all volunteer not for profit corp. Our mission is to collect, preserve, and operate examples of all forms of surface transportation. Our collection consists of railroad
locomotives, both steam and diesel, along with rail cars some we operate. We also have antique autos and horse drawn carriages and one of the steam pumpers from the San Antonio fire dept. We also have two fire trucks. Both operate and we sometimes operate them for the visitors. We are located on 37 acres of McAllister Park which we lease from the San Antonio Dept.of Parks and Receration.
The Museum was creater in 1964 on the property of the Pearl Brewery. In 1968 we
moved to the present site after acquiring the S.P. Depot from Converse Texas. In 1976 we completed the 1/3 mile of track on which we operate the train ride.
