The Pasadena Historical Museum Complex (PHS) began in 1978 with the donation of a house. The house was moved into the Pasadena Memorial Park and converted into a replica of an early farm house complete with tin roof and front porch. The original exhibits depicting the history of Pasadena from the Indian settlers to the opening of the Washburn Tunnel were provided by various civic groups and the school system.
The Strawberry House, an authentic farmhouse of local origin, was added to the Memorial Park location in the early eighties. It is a two-story 1905 structure furnished to depict the turn-of-the-century era and agricultural heritage of Pasadena. The Parks family who lived in the house added a room each year that they had a good strawberry crop.
The Pomeroy Homestead, which is in progress, will reflect the life of a middle-class family between the years 1935-1945.
