Stirling City is a small, unincorporated community of history and heritage located in Northern California, east of Chico and above the town of Paradise and the community of Magalia, at an elevation of 3500 feet. Our primary history is that of being a lumbermill town which began in the early 1900's by the Diamond Match Company when construction of a sawmill was started. Our heritage is made up of its buildings, many restored as private homes, its streets, surrounding spaces and the friendly people that live and have lived in and around them. A heritage being protected through our Historical Society and the people of Stirling City.
Exhibits include history of Diamond Match Co. and the early timber industry, the Stirling city town site and photo displays of early families.
