Chestnut Square might be described as an everyman's village. Set on two acres, just southeast of McKinney's historic downtown square, Chestnut Square consists of five houses, a general store, a chapel, a stage coah inn and a smoke house. Plans are to bring in, or replicate, a 1900s school house this year (2004) thus rounding out the sense of community. The buildings of Chestnut Square state from 1854
