The Norfolk Historical Society interprets and preserves the history of Norfolk, a Virginia seaport city chartered in 1682. The Society collects, preserves, and makes available to the public objects and records relating to Norfolk's history.

The Norfolk Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Norfolk, Virginia. Chartered in 1682, Norfolk is one of the oldest communities in the United States and one of the country's most important port cities.
