The Norman and Cleveland County Historical Museum
Norman, Oklahoma

Historic House

The Norman and Cleveland County Historical Museum is housed in the Moore-Lindsay house, a turn-of-the-century Queen Anne-style Victorian dwelling. Typical features of the style are displayed throughout the interior and on the exterior of the structure. Included are varied exterior coverings such as clapboard and shingled siding, a turret (tower), iron-work on the roof, gingerbread (decorative wood trim), stained glass windows, expansive porches and spindlework. Inside features include fireplaces, wood floors, a spiral staircase, decorative wood moulding, a butler's pantry, oak pocket doors and much more. The museum is furnished and outfitted with artifacts from 1850 to 1910. It is like walking through the door and travelling back 100 years to a middle-class household.
