Among his enterprises were a beef packing plant, a stagecoach line, a freighting company, refrigerated railway cars, cattle and sheep raising, land ownership, and a new town which he called Medora, in honor of his wife

The Museum is housed in the majestic former Masonic Temple building in downtown Enderlin. Our museum houses artifacts depicting the early days of the Soo Line Railroad in Enderlin when it served as the division point. We also have a grand history of baseball and have many displays depicting the glory days! Our vision is to develop exhibits relating to the early businesses to better preserve our past for future generations.

Turtle Mountain Chippewa Heritage Center

The purpose of the center is to preserve the written documents and artifacts of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, and to make historical materials available for use by the Turtle Mountain people and others who desire to learn more about the Tribe and its unique cultural heritage.

Bonanzaville Pioneer Village & Museums

Built in 1972 as the headquarters of the Cass County Historical Society, the building houses a growing collection of artifacts from Cass County and the surrounding area. The museum features permanent, temporary, and traveling exhibits that include one of the region's largest collections of Native American artifacts. The museum store, a reception hall and offices are also located in the main museum.

Camp Hancock State Historic Site (State Historical Society of North Dakota)
Bismarck, North Dakota

Located at 101East Main Ave., Bismarck, this site preserves part of a military installation established as Camp Greeley in 1872 to provide protection for work gangs then building the Northern Pacific Railroad. The camp's name was changed to Camp Hancock in 1873. A log headquarters building still stands on the site; it has been enlarged and remodeled several times, and the logs have been concealed by clapboard siding. The building serves as an interpretive museum for artifacts and information about local history.
