Camarillo, California
Botanical Garden, History, Library
The museum is a community asset that houses many of the Pleasant Valley Chumas Indians and pioneer families artifacts, photos and documents. We own one of three rare Chumas Indian woven baskets in Ventura County and several Camarillo family artifacts, pictures and clothing. The botanical garden is a teaching garden for children and the annual Living History Day is designed for children to learn how the pioneers lived. Our research library contains many early Camarillo and Pleasant Valley books describing the unique history of the Chumas and pioneer families. We welcome visitors from all over the world.
