Texas Prison Museum, Inc.

The Texas Prison Museum is home to the history of the Texas prison system. Old Sparky, the Texas electric chair, is the most famous exhibit. However, visitors soon find that inmate made arts and crafts draw their attention. Visitors find that one of the more fascinating displays is that of inmate (illegally) made knives and other weapons. Displays covering the history of the famous Texas Prison Rodeo, the weapons guards have used, some now illegal, the history of the death penalty, and a look at some of Texas' infamous inmates are some of the more popular exhibits. Most patrons also step inside our life size replica cell. A patron can even have their picture made in the cell while dressed in an authentic inmate striped shirt.

Texas Music Museum

The Texa Music Museum is a non-profit corporation that was founded in 1984 as a Texas Sesquicentennial project to develop support for the establishment of a Texa Museum Museum and performance center in Austin. TMM promotes and preserves Texas music by presenting two or three major exhibits a year in Austin, often with musical performances. The museum conducts research, collects photographs, artifacts, and documents relating to all aspects of Texas music and provides exhibits to other musems, schools, libraries, history centers, and other public facilities throughout the state. The Texas Music Museum is endorsed by all three major state music organizations: the Texas Music Association, the Texas Music Educators Associatin, and the Texas Music Teachers Association.

Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures

The Billie Trimble Chandler Arts Foundation, Inc. dba, The Asian Cultures Museum, was founded as a nonprofit organization in 1974. The Museum represents the vision of one woman-Mrs. Billie Trimble Chandler. Beginning in the late 1950's, Mrs. Chandler lived and taught English in Japan for over seventeen years. During this period, she collected thousands of artifacts and commissioned numerous works of art. Upon her return to Corpus Christi, these objects became the core of the Museum's collections. The collection was later expanded to include items from other Pacific Rim nations and the Indian subcontinent. Reflecting this broader scope, in 1982, the institution became The Museum of Oriental Cultures.

The Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute

The 1st floor permanent exhibits take you back in time to the very early years of Dr Pepper and Waco. You start your journey by walking through the Old Corner Drug Store and talking to Dr. Charles Alderton, the inventor of Dr Pepper. The next room showcases early bottling equipment, along with the well and examples of the earliest Dr Pepper bottles.

The MBA - Museum of Biblical Art

The Museum of Biblical Art has risen from the ashes in a brand new expanded, state-of-the-art facility; a fine art museum with a mission to display art with a Biblical theme. Nothing on its scale exists in the United States, making it a treasure trove for Dallas…..and the world. Eleven galleries exhibit European and American art, Jewish and Israeli art, rare Bibles, and Biblical Archaeology; works include bronze sculpture, drawings, fine prints, and oil paintings. Opening exhibits include: Marc Chagall, with over 50 originals…The Michelangelo Exhibit includes an exact bronze of the Pieta. European Art includes a fresco from 1300s, a Veronese drawing, and an altarpiece from the School of Boticelli.
