Maine Archives and Museums (MAM) is the only professional association representing museums, archives, historical societies, and other collecting institutions in the state of Maine. Our purpose is to develop and foster a network of citizens and institutions in Maine who identify, collect, interpret, and/or provide access to materials relating to history, living collections, and culture.
The Maryland Museums Association (MMA) is an alliance of historical and cultural institutions that collect, hold, interpret, and protect the cultural and material heritage within the State. The association advocates for members by enhancing professionalism in those institutions and individuals, and promoting awareness of museum interests.
MMA has been supporting the work of Michigan museums for nearly 60 years. Our members include the institutions, professionals and volunteers of the Michigan museum community who believe that strong museums help us better understand ourselves and our world.

An all-volunteer program, the Mississippi Museums Association was founded in 1976 by an interested group of museum professionals.
The Missouri Museums Association encourages communication, cooperation and collaboration among museums, historic sites, archives, historical societies, libraries, national/state parks, and all persons who desire to affiliate with such organizations in the State of Missouri. This includes paid and unpaid museum staff members, museum board members, museum friends, and public and private institutions.
MPMA has a central office in Littleton, CO. Its governing structure includes a board of directors and numerous committees and affiliates. Staff includes an executive director and an office assistant. This group oversees the services that MPMA provides. An annual fall conference is attended by nearly 300 professionals each year. The conference provides opportunities for all levels of professionals in training, networking, and information exchange at a relatively inexpensive cost.

Founded in 1955, MSA is a nonprofit, international association organized to advance the success of cultural commerce and of the professionals engaged in it. By encouraging high standards of professional competence and conduct, MSA helps retail professionals at cultural institutions better serve their organizations and the public.
The Museum Trustee Association (MTA) is the only organization dedicated to providing ongoing board education programs, services, and resources for the special needs of museum trustees. MTA is uniquely experienced in museum trustee education. Attendees of the many programs provided have gained confidence in their fiduciary and stewardship roles and contributed positively to the growth and success of their museums.
To accomplish its organizational purpose, Museums Alaska maintains a central office to receive and disburse information about museums, cultural centers and their activities, and to collect and share professional opportunities. Museums Alaska publishes the quarterly newsletter, Network, and organizes an annual meeting and conference to focus on the needs of Alaska museum professionals, volunteers, and their institutions.
