It’s first home was a card table in the corner of the Plainville Public Library. Started in connection with the town’s Centennial Celebration in 1969, the society would wait 6 years to get a place of its own. In 1974, the Plainville Historical Society moved into the old Town Hall, after the town offices had moved to the new Municipal Center. Two years were spent renovating the old Town Hall and creating a town museum. The Plainville Historic Center was dedicated on May 30, 1976.
